INtwoIT Executive Coaching & Consulting was founded by Yael Blum in 2003 with a mission to develop outstanding business and community leaders. Integral to this objective is an adherence to the principles of creativity, collaboration and bottom line results.

INtwoIT Executive Coaching & Consulting is powered by systems thinking and appreciative change processes. Whether coaching or consulting, the first discovery point is clarity about the outcomes you want to achieve. Typically about 75% of all change initiatives fail. This is due, in part, to fragmented approaches, a failure to understand the natural cycle of change, and an over- or under-emphasis of cultural attunement and economic alignment.

INtwoIT Executive Coaching & Consulting views individuals and organizations as complete systems whose characteristics are influenced by the environment in which they exist. By exploring the delicate intricacies of interdependence, clients are better equipped to implement positive changes for themselves and the organizations they serve.

“Systems thinking is a discipline for seeing the ‘structures’ that underlie complex situations, and for discerning high from low leverage change…by seeing wholes we learn how to foster health [and come to understand] the subtle interconnectedness that gives living systems their unique character” Peter Senge

I am passionate about people and possibility. I believe wholeheartedly in the words of David Whyte “ that work is not a static end point or a mere exercise in providing, but a journey and a pilgrimage in which the core element of our being is tested in the world”. I draw inspiration from the world around me, my eclectic upbringing, a degree in anthropology, a graduate certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University, and a lifetime of shared wisdom. I am grateful for my ability to support others on their road to success.

I have a knack for understanding systems and unrecognized connections between issues and people. I practice maintaining an appreciative mindset and encourage my clients to “begin with the end in mind” and work backwards, using systems thinking to manage professional and personal change. I am an independent and creative thinker with an ability to synthesize ideas and data in fresh, insightful ways.

I have a natural gift for honest communication and my sincerity and open mind inspire others to open up and express themselves. I love to remind people, by example, of the importance of not taking things too seriously even though there is important work to be done!

An entrepreneur in my own right, I have worked in tourism, health care, education, and the social services sector. Currently, I am adjunct faculty at the Boucher Institute for Naturopathic Medicine, an associate coach with the University of British Columbia, and an affiliate with two reputable Vancouver consulting firms.

I draw my strength from nature and the great people in my midst, especially my 12-year-old daughter. I have been a foster parent for 9 years and have cared for over 17 teenage girls. This experience has given me great insight into adolescence and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with families who are challenged by this phase of their child’s life. My own creativity is nurtured, in part, by my involvement with a powerhouse female a cappella septet called “The No S**t Shirleys. My love of the mountains and the ocean are why I make Vancouver my home.
